My journey as an artist/painter is driven by a lifelong passion for reinvention and hands-on creation.
Painting under the name 'PAPI' began as a personal hobby—a way to channel my practical focus, energy, and love for visual storytelling onto the canvas.
Now, having the time and freedom to focus full-time on my studio practice, my creative journey is fully fueled by everyday life, nostalgia, and the structured worlds of design, pop culture, and geometry.
Transitioning my work from a private passion to sharing it with the world has been an incredibly rewarding experience.
By signing my pieces as 'PAPI', I bring a piece of my personal history, my roots, and my dedication into the homes of collectors, creating art that speaks directly to people's passions and everyday spaces."

"I am a Portuguese self-taught artist/painter currently based in the UK, creating original artwork under the signature 'PAPI'.
After a long and diverse career in the traditional workforce, I have recently stepped away from my previous professional path to dedicate this new chapter of my life entirely to my art
My work is a vibrant exploration of color, geometry, and popular culture, heavily influenced by the bold energy of Pop Art and the pure, expressive freedom of Naïf Art.
Working primarily with acrylics on canvas, I enjoy the precision of sharp lines and strong contrasts.
My pieces range from the playful recontextualization of iconic cartoon characters to structured, geometric abstractions and free-form figurative storytelling.
My intent is to bridge the gap between high energy and domestic spaces.
I want the audience to experience an immediate sense of connection, nostalgia, and visual joy, transforming everyday walls into modern, lively conversations."
